Viewers of Manchester United’s meeting with Aston Villa this evening have taken to social media, to unveil a collective opinion regarding the influence of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Fernandes on target
Ralf Rangnick’s men are currently locked in action at Villa Park.
After putting the Claret and Blue to the sword by a goal to nil to book a spot in the FA Cup’s 4th round just days ago, United travelled to the west Midlands, on this occasion eyeing all three points in the Premier League.
And, as things stand on Saturday evening, a much-needed victory is precisely what the Red Devils are headed towards.
With 45 minutes played out, Rangnick and co. lead Villa by a goal to nil, after Bruno Fernandes’ speculative effort from distance somehow managed to make its way through the body of Emi Martinez and in:

Better without Ronaldo?
It is not the name of difference-maker-thus-far Fernandes, however, which has taken centre stage in the online chatter amid an entertaining affair at Villa Park to date.
Instead, this honour has been reserved for teammate and fellow countryman Cristiano Ronaldo.
Unfortunately for United’s main man, however, this has not come owing to altogether positive reasons.
Instead, amid an improved display on the part of the Red Devils thus far this evening, a whole host of viewers have called into question whether, perhaps, Ralf Rangnick’s troops may simply function better as a unit without Ronaldo spearheading the club’s attack:
We are playing much better without Ronaldo #MUFC

it’s 0-0 if ronaldo is playing. Cavani a much better fit for this team and tactics.

MUFC look far better without Ronaldo. They are pressing and playing high as a team and not much space for AVFC to control the game as they did the other night #AVLMUN
